We must next consider pride, and (1) pride in general; (2) the first man's sin, which we hold to have been pride.
Under the first head there are eight points of inquiry:
A Whether pride is a sin?
A Whether it is a special vice?
A Wherein does it reside as in its subject?
A Of its species;
A Whether it is a mortal sin?
A Whether it is the most grievous of all sins?
A Of its relation to other sins;
A Whether it should be reckoned a capital vice?
